It was presented at the Barcelona International Motor Show, the sporty top model of the series: the Seat Ateca FR. We already know the abbreviation FR from the Seat equipment alphabet and translate it with “Formula Racing”. The next lines show what this is all about. It is clear, however, that the Ateca FR represents an addition to the Seat product offensive that started with the Ateca itself. After the facelift of the Seat Leon and the launch of the Ibiza, other SUVs and crossovers such as the Arona have already been announced. So let's take a look at the expansion of the Ateca series.
The new equipment line FR supplements the previous versions Reference, Style and XCELLENCE. It is said to be the best choice for sporty drivers and will be available for the same price as the top XCEELLENCE equipment. This stands for comfort, elegance and new technologies. The fact that the Spaniards are doing well to add the Seat Ateca FR to the series is shown by the fact that the SUV has sold over 40.000 since its market launch last year. This means that he has made a decisive contribution to last year's record operating profit of 143 million euros.
Formula Racing now also for the Ateca
The FR not only makes the Ateca more exciting, as the Spaniards want to make us believe, but also creates more variety in the series. You will find FR logos at the front and rear, roof rails and window frames in black, as well as a sporty grille in the same color. The sporty package is joined by a front spoiler painted in the lower area, LED fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels and a cheeky roof spoiler.
The Seat Ateca FR as a new top model
Inside, the passengers can also expect an upgraded interior. Although the other variants do not look conservative or, for example, poorly manufactured, it is only the Seat Atec FR that brings some spice into play. FR logos can also be found here, for example on the door sills. In addition, the pilot has a firm step on the aluminum pedals and enjoys the multifunction sports steering wheel. The sport comfort seats, which are covered with Alcantara, offer more support, while the red seams in the interior provide a little extra. Pepp should also bring the new 2.0 TSI with 190 PS, about which the Spaniards still have little to say.
