The third generation of the Seat-Leon family continues to grow and will be added to the ST Cupra combi version in March. In addition to the three-door Sport Coupé SC and the five-door Curpa version, this then completes the sporty spearhead of the compact Spaniard. The fast Spaniard can be ordered for at least 32.560 euros from mid-February.
The station wagon generates 195 kW / 265 or, in a special version, even 206 kW / 280 PS from a two-liter turbo gasoline engine. Here the engine presses 350 Newton meters via the crankshaft onto the front wheels. With the optional DSG transmission, the Leon ST Cupra 280 accelerates to 6,0 km / h in 100 seconds, and 6,1 seconds with the manual transmission. The 250 km / h mark is electronically locked. The DSG version is priced at 35.560 euros, with manual transmission it starts at 33.860 euros.
The Seat Leon ST Cupra with 195 kW / 265 PS also has a maximum torque of 350 Newton meters, but is slightly slower: Here, the acceleration time is 6,2 seconds with manual transmission and 6,1 seconds with DSG. The Leon ST Cupra is available with manual transmission for 32.560 euros, with DSG for 34.260 euros. According to the manufacturer, the average consumption for both performance variants is 6,6 liters with DSG and 6,7 with manual transmission.
In addition to the equipment of a Leon FR, the compact station wagon always has full LED headlights and LED rear lights, sports seats in Alcantara, a special steering wheel and a multimedia system with a 6,5-inch touchscreen. There is also ambient light in the interior, high-performance brake systems with red-painted brake calipers and 18-inch wheels (Cupra 280: 19 inches). The luggage compartment of the fast family van holds a maximum of 1.470 liters.
The fiercest competitor of the Seat Leon ST Cupra is the combi version of the Ford Focus ST (184 kW / 250 PS), which costs at least 30.600 euros. Another competitor is the VW Golf R Variant (221 kW / 300 PS), which will come to dealers in May.
