Shell relies on charging stations - charging instead of tapping

Our mobility is becoming increasingly electric. Oil companies are now also aligning their future strategies with this. Shell is entering the charging station business in Germany this year.

The mineral oil company Shell, together with the electricity provider EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, plans to install 50 quick-charging stations in Germany at its filling stations this year. The so-called High Power Chargers (HPC) with CCS, CHAdeMO and AC connection (type 2) have all the usual connector standards. With 150 kilowatts and more, the columns should allow short charging times. 150 kW are enough to shovel electricity into the battery for 100 kilometers in six to eight minutes. EnBW wants to provide 100 percent green electricity. According to Shell, the expansion announced for 2019 is just a start, and more charging stations are to follow.
