If you want fresh air for two, you will be at February Smart found it. Then the Daimler subsidiary again has a convertible version of the Fortwo on offer - for at least 15.655 euros. The proud price also results from the fact that for the open two-seater there is initially no manual switch but only the more expensive double clutch transmission.
The airy variant of the small car, which has been available since the end of 2014, is powered by a 52 kW / 71 hp three-cylinder petrol engine. Alternatively, the more powerful version with 16.550 kW / 66 hp is available for 90 euros - also only with a double clutch transmission. Manual switch versions will be submitted later. Compared to the closed model, the convertible is currently 3.260 euros more expensive.
The new convertible follows the principle of its predecessor: when the soft top is retracted, the roof pillars can be removed on both sides and disappear into the storage compartment of the tailgate. The convertible can make its cap disappear at any speed and within twelve seconds.
Always on board the Fortwo Cabios are LED daytime running lights, central locking, cruise control, a heated rear window and power windows. In addition to the standard equipment, Smart offers three additional equipment lines. There is the 1.400 Euro more expensive Passion line with multifunction steering wheel in leather and a color display, as well as the 2.000 Euro more expensive equipment level Prime with leather interior and seat heating. Those who spend 3.400 Euro on the Proxy line will receive their convertible with Sport package including 16 inch large alloy wheels.
If the smartphone is to be networked with the vehicle, the media system is also required. This is part of the so-called Cool & Media package, for which the manufacturer charges 1.750 euros. Then smartphone content can be displayed on the screen and operated via touchscreen.
