World premiere in China: Smart Brabus
The German Equestrian Federation recommends a box size of 12,25 square meters per horse. For 109 of these animals, a pure stable area of 1.335,25 square meters would be necessary.
Of course, this does not fit with an urban life concept of modern target groups. That is why Smart offers a more compact remedy in cooperation with the company's Brabus: The new smart Brabus ranges from Fortwo 4,47 square meters to the larger Forfour 5,79.
At least now, the first annoyed: Since the Smart presents at the auto show in Beijing with the Brabus smart trio from fortwo, fortwo convertible and forfour the new, of course highly emotionally charged top model of the brand, and we go here in pocket calculator.
But a few dates still go, at least for the regulars' table - because this is a Brabus model, so thick pants in a small car. The current generation of two- and four-seaters have so far been with a maximum of 66 kW / 90 PS, here is the smart Brabus so much on it, but without being wasteful. Compared to the old Fortwo from Bottrop, the increase is seven horsepower (or just 85,75 square meters, but let's do that).
The premiere venue - China's largest auto show this year - is not random. In the Middle Kingdom, the manufacturer is currently looking forward to healthy growth rates. In the congested megacities, more and more Chinese are turning to small cars. But because status thinking continues to hit the wallet, the strategists here promise a particularly large share of the Brabus versions of the smart sale. The fact that the Fortwo variant accelerates to 9,5 km / h in 100 seconds will hardly play a role in the heavy traffic. The 180 km / h top speed is another nice paper value. For the forfour. The fortwo creates 165 km / h.
Of course, the smart Brabus can also look out the head of the family. There are special aluminum rims (fortwo: 16-inch front, 17-inch rear, forfour with 17-inch aluminum on both axles) and double tailpipes, which unfortunately look badly attached. They are framed by an indispensable diffuser optic in the rear bumper, which will certainly suck the Smart into a new league aerodynamically. Satire end.
As before, the Xclusive model is on top. That comes with a leather interior, leatherette cover on the dashboard and other extras.
May I serve again with numbers, please? Must be, because we still want to reveal the prices for the Brabus fun. The Brabus fortwo costs 19.710 euros. The Swabians charge 22.970 euros for the fortwo convertible, the forfour is in the list at 20.520 euros. For the Xclusive model, a surcharge of 3.000 euros is due. This means that the tariffs are at least below real estate prices in the world's top cities; but we don't want to convert the Smart back to square meters. The models will be available from dealers from July.
