Ssangyong Korando Facelift - Often something new

After a facelift in the year 2013, the Ssangyong Korando now get another update. The refreshed SUV will be presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show (9. To 19. March). The first vehicles will be available in Germany at the end of the second quarter.

With its modified front design, the Ssangyong Korando looks more robust than before

The facelift measures in the front of the Korando are particularly noticeable. The modified headlights now integrate a striking daytime running light made of 11 LED, each with its own lens. The lightly grown radiator grille forms an optical unit with the headlights. The central brand logo is no longer free, but is carried by two curved chrome strips. In the lower front apron there are now large crescent-shaped fog lights instead of small round ones.

The interior of the Korando was only slightly revised. New is an ergonomically shaped steering wheel with a new control button architecture. SssangYong has also revised the instrument cluster. Instead of the two small displays in the middle of the two round instruments, there is now a large information display between the speedometer and tachometer. A new infotainment system with Tomtom navigation system and smartphone integration is also available. The images of the new camera duo for front and rear view are also shown on the seven-inch display.

With the engines, the customer still has the choice between an 2,2-liter four-cylinder diesel with 131 kW / 178 PS and a two-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 110 kW / 149 PS. Both units can be combined with either front or all-wheel drive as well as with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. In terms of price, the lifted Korando will be based on its predecessor. The basic model currently costs around 20.000 euros. (Mario Hommen / SP-X)
