The Mercedes EQS is something like the electrical alternative to S-class. With a slight surcharge.
The price list for the electric S-Class will start at just under 9.000 euros above the S-Class. The electric luxury sedan, which will be delivered from September, will initially be offered as an EQS 106.374+ with a price of 450 euros with an output of 245 kW / 333 hp and a range of 780 kilometers (WLTP), with the 135.530 kW / 385 hp EQS 523 580Matic as an alternative at prices from 4 euros with all-wheel drive and a range of 676 kilometers (WLTP).
The standard equipment of the four-door's basic engine includes rear-axle steering, 19-inch rims and a three-phase 11 kW on-board charger. The large screen of the hyperscreen cockpit is not included in the scope of delivery, which costs just under 8.600 euros. In general, there is a long list of surcharges that includes an ultra-fine HEPA filter for the air conditioning system (535 euros), 22-inch rims (3.570 euros) and a parking assistant with remote control (1.844 euros).
Latest technology in the electric S-Class
In the future, some extras can still be activated online after purchase. At the start there is, among other things, an alternative sound for the driving noise generator or mini games for the infotainment system. They are downloaded via the radio interface, which can also be used for other over-the-air updates in the future.
The EQS is the first Mercedes on a purely electric car platform. The available space and target customers roughly correspond to those of the S-Class, which is available with conventional engines or as a plug-in hybrid. The prices there start at 97.800 euros for the diesel with 210 kW / 286 PS.
