Toyota launches a mini-electric car in Japan

Japan's society is outdated. Toyota has the right car. And it's reminiscent of the smart.

Toyota is still struggling with conventional e-cars, but the Japanese already have a production-ready model in the drawer of the micro-cars. At the Future Expo in Tokyo, the car manufacturer has now presented an ultra-compact electric vehicle for seniors, novice drivers and short-distance commuters, the 2020 is to come to the Japanese market. The two-seater is only 2,49 meters long and is to drive distances up to 100 kilometers with a battery charge. The maximum speed is 60 km / h.

With the micro car Toyota reacts not only to the traffic and air problem in cities, but also to the aging of society. In addition, the company wants to gain experience with battery technology and to test new business models. Among other things, the continuous review of battery capacity is to be offered as a service. Interesting could be such a service among others for Leasing companies but also for private individuals who want to resell their e-car. In full battery cars, however, Toyota still has a gap in the portfolio - after all, shows daughter Lexus at the Motor Show in Tokyo in late October, the study of a possible future Stromer.
