Toyota is celebrating more than ten million Land Cruiser vehicles sold worldwide this year. The SUV is the longest produced series of the brand. The SUV was on 1. August 1951 still under the name Toyota "Jeep BJ" introduced and runs since now 68 years in different generations from the tape. With the 20er series 1955 started the export in November.
Initially, not even 100 units were executed per year, but within ten years this number has increased to more than 10 000 units per year. Meanwhile, the Land Cruiser is sold in some 170 countries and regions, its annual sales are around 400 000 vehicles. In some regions, Land Cruiser 40er series are still on the road and thus about 50 years after their production.
