Polestar? Is this a new casting show? Not at all! The company, which was previously regarded as a refiner of Volvos, was taken over by the Swedish carmaker last summer and now offers in-house optimizations. So the models Volvo V40, S60/V60 and XC60 are equipped with complete packages that not only enhance the look, but also help the engine performance on the jumps. As always: What is beautiful and fun is either expensive, already sold out or makes you fat. The latter is hardly a question in a Polestar Volvo.
Polestar is known not only as a tuner from Volvos, but also with his racing team. The experience gained from this should be incorporated directly into the production vehicles. This means, on the one hand, that the optimized Volvo models drive up with a particularly sporty outfit and, on the other hand, that driving enjoyment is increased. So Polestar developed a software for engines, which increases the power and torque. As if that were not enough, the sports department also adapts the engine and transmission management software to achieve an even sportier response. In conjunction with the exhaust system including the diffuser, it should be able to produce dynamic driving performance with an unobtrusive but pleasantly sonorous sound.
When it comes to optics, the Swedes of Polestar, who conveniently - just like the headquarters of Volvo - sit in Gothenburg, go a decent way. On the outside, the exhaust system with its stainless steel tailpipes and the diffuser fits in harmoniously with the overall picture. There are also model-specific roof edge or tailgate spoilers, which are anything but sprawling to describe. Ultimately, the smart alloy wheels are the most striking optimization feature. So it is not surprising that the interiors were also upgraded very discreetly. In addition to a shift knob, a sporty pedals and Polestar door sills, the Swedes do without any kind of trim.
However, much more value is placed on the performance. You want to boost performance, handling and driving pleasure. For this purpose, the trolleys were modified and adapted for the sporty cornering on winding country roads. All this you get in a complete package that starts priced at 6.849 Euro for the compact Volvo V40. Nearly 7.500 Euro are for the complete package Volvo V60 or S60 due, while the Volvo XC60 even costs 8.650 Euro. The installation is also added. These are of course proud prices, but given the manufacturer's warranty, which remains untouched despite the tuning, explainable. In addition, the quality of the parts should be at the level of the factory equipment, since they are developed and produced together with Volvo. If that seems too much for you, you can also upgrade your Sweden with individual components of the package. The exhaust system with diffuser, the air filter and the wheelset can be ordered separately.
