Some contemporaries need special protection. Volvo has now made its large SUVs XC60 and XC90 bulletproof.
Volvo offers the SUV XC60 and XC90 as special protection vehicles. They offer certified ballistic protection in accordance with the US NIJ IIIA classification and the German VPAM VR4 directive. The safety precautions include, among other things, the equipment with 1,8 centimeters thick armored glass, steel and aramid for the front, sides, rear and roof. The window panes are made of reinforced laminated glass. The two-liter petrol engine with 220 kW / 300 PS provides propulsion.
The XC60 and XC90 special protection models are based on the top “Inscription” equipment line. The XC60 costs in conjunction with the 300 hp engine from around 63.950 euros, the XC90 from around 73.850 euros. In addition, there are the costs for the special protection equipment of 46.600 euros each.
