After Beetle and Golf, VW now wants to create a third car icon with the ID.3 electric car. It will be launched in mid-2020 with a special model. Interested parties can already reserve a copy.
VW opens its electric offensive with the compact model ID.3. For the market launch there is the special model "1st" with a range of 420 kilometers (WLTP) and a price from just under 40.000 euros. A base model with a smaller battery and prices below 30.000 euros will be submitted later. The first deliveries are scheduled for mid-2020.
There should be three battery variants for the five-door model: the smallest enables journeys of up to 330 kilometers, the largest stores energy for up to 550 kilometers. The manufacturer expects the greatest demand for the medium variant, which is also used in the special launch model. Customers can now reserve a copy for 1.000 euros.
There is a choice of three versions of the Start Edition, all of which have a navigation system and large rims. The top variant "1st Max" is also equipped with a panoramic glass roof and AR head-up display. In addition, customers can fill up on electricity free of charge for a year, up to a maximum of 2.000 kWh (corresponds to savings of around 600 euros for household electricity prices).
