What documents do you need when buying a used car / used car?

In our first used car guidebookWe have informed you about how to clean a car properly. The second article was about meaningful and successful photos that can increase the selling price and now it is about the required documents.
It is the glorious seven that should be in a used car sales, because next to the car (including key) should be the following documents:
These vehicle papers may / should not be missing from a used car purchase
1. Registration certificate Part I / vehicle registration
The registration certificate Part I used to be the vehicle registration. As the name already suggests, this certificate must be carried in the vehicle. If the driver does not have this certificate, then he will hopefully have his vehicle logged off, in which case he has a withdrawal certificate. In the vehicle certificate, ie the registration certificate Part I is the current holder. Here you should also check the identity card.
2. Identity card from the buyer / seller
Who buys the car, we sell it? It makes sense to make sure that the seller is also the owner of the vehicle. Is not he? Does he even have the authorization to sell the vehicle? If a vehicle is handed over to a registered office, it is also essential to see the ID card of the buyer and to contractually agree on a log off time and if necessary also to negotiate a deposit that will be returned if the vehicle has been canceled or rescheduled in the time window. Who owns his vehicle over one Professional platform for selling cars, the vehicle can be handed over, it will be picked up by truck and you will receive your cancellation confirmation by e-mail within two working days.
3. Registration certificate Part II / vehicle registration
The registration certificate Part II is the vehicle registration document. There is always written the current holder and the presenter, a gain in privacy, it was the vehicle registration still up to six holders were registered. So that you can not drive a fool, the total number of holders are entered in the registration certificate Part II. For this reason, it is worth looking at the vehicle registration certificate or the registration certificate Part II when buying used cars.
When buying a used car, it is essential to use the chassis numbers / VIN (vehicleIdentification numbers). Do the papers match the vehicle? Do the data also agree in the sales contract? The chassis number can be found in the papers, in the engine compartment, bottom right on the windshield or in the passenger seat.
4th TÜV test report
Does the vehicle still have TÜV? Is the HU badge still valid on the rear license plate? Good! But that's not enough, you also need the so-called test report of the last TÜV investigation. Although this does not have to be carried in the car, it is required for registration and there is a duty to store it until the next main inspection.
Is this HU report missing? Then you should be suspicious, there are on the test reports often also times on parts of the wear limit, the seller has not replaced them? Why is he keeping something quiet here? If you want to sell your car, you should prefer the TÜV test, because with two years of TÜV, you sell your vehicle better and the buyer is safer on a number.
5. Do not forget the checkbook!
Is the vehicle maintenance booklet maintained? Then, of course, the checkbook is also one of the most important documents, in which case this is even a sales promotion measure, because a well-maintained vehicle usually has no maintenance backlog and no hidden costs that can still be attributed to the potential buyer. If no checkbook is available you should be able to explain why this is missing, has this been postponed? Then you can print out the old inspection bills in the workshop and, if necessary, have a new checkbook stamped. If you have done the inspections yourself, because you are a car mechanic, then you should somehow prove this. The newer a vehicle, the more important it is to comply with maintenance intervals when selling, but older vehicles should also be well maintained.
6. Radio code and operating instructions
Modern vehicles often pose problems for those who want to change, the operating concepts are in some cases not exactly self-explanatory. For this reason, the operating instructions should be in the glove compartment. The radio code, of course, not, if the vehicle has a radio with a radio code, then you have to be able to present it at the time of sale, because otherwise an empty battery could switch the buyer off completely at some point.
7. The contract - important when buying a used car!
Did you know that the vehicle registration document is no proof of who owns the car? A valid contract must be established. If you want to sell your car, you need a contract. Here are many forms in the net. It is best to fill out the contract directly on site and check the IDs here again, as well as the chassis number, the mileage and the damage to the vehicle, which should be recorded in the sales contract.
If you get your vehicle via a car exchange, for example: How to sell your car - Incidentally, the vehicle is picked up directly at home. If you put your car there for mediation give dealers from all over Germany bids for the advertised vehicle. The employees of www.meinautomakler.de try to get the best price out and send only the best offer to the customer. If you agree with the price, the vehicle is picked up and the seller gets the amount in cash. So easy can be the used car sale and you know now what documents need to be at hand.
