World market for luxury cars - German premium trio at the top

In the electric car and cheap city cars, the German passenger car industry is lagging behind in the world. She is strong in another area.

According to statistics from the Inovev Mercedes consulting institute, the world market leader was the first quarter with 560.421 new cars sold. BMW followed with 519.307 and Audi with 447.520 units. The sister brands Mini (BMW) and Smart (Mercedes) and the commercial vehicles from Daimler are not included. The international competition, which includes Lexus, Cadillac, Tesla, Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover and Rolls-Royce, is far behind.
