The 30. Happy birthday is celebrated. Mazda agrees and created a special model for its cult roadster MX-5 for the anniversary - with a very eye-catching color.
For the 30th birthday of its Roadster MX-5, Mazda is launching a special model in the new Racing Orange paint. The edition Mazda MX-3.000 5th Anniversary, limited to 30 units worldwide, celebrates its European premiere at the Geneva Salon (March 5 to 17).
The special model is delivered with a manual soft top or an electrically foldable hardtop. The more powerful petrol engine from the engine range is used under the hood. The 2,0-liter Skyactiv-G naturally aspirated engine delivers 135 kW / 184 PS and is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission.
The color orange is not only used as the exterior color, but can also be found on the front and rear brake calipers and in the interior, among other things, on the Recaro seats, door panels and on the dashboard. A Bose sound system and integration for Apple and Android smartphones are also part of the standard scope. In addition, the special model has forged 17 inch aluminum and sports shock absorbers.
Mazda has brought more than a million units of the 30 owner onto the road in the past 2 years. In Germany, more than 130.000 vehicles of the small rear-wheel-drive athlete were sold. The prices for the birthday edition, which will be available from summer, will only be announced in April. The regular softtop model with the 184 PS engine costs from 27.790 euros, the corresponding hardtop version from 30.390 euros.
