Last year, private individuals demanded 42,8 percent lower prices for their advertised used cars on the online platform Mobile.de compared to commercial providers. The reason for this enormous difference is less to be found in the pricing policy of the providers than in the age of the vehicles. Vehicles sold privately are on average around twice as old as the dealerships across all federal states.
