With the 992, the Porsche 911 enters its eighth generation. The new model has now been unveiled ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show (30 November through 9 December). Visually, the penalty differs particularly by the rear with continuous LED light strip, wide spoiler and higher degree of the "old" 991 model. In addition, all variants, regardless of whether they have rear or all-wheel drive, carry the wide body. At the front axle, the penalty for 4,5 centimeters in width, also wearing the front hood based on classic models now a recess. Also new are the door handles, which extend electrically.

In the interior, Porsche relies on a much larger infotainment screen than before. The display measures 10,9 inches and can be operated by tapping and swiping. Modern also falls out of the instrument panel, only the central tachometer is still analog. The four other free places for the presentation of information are digital and freely configurable. In addition to the innovations in infotainment, the 992 has also been upgraded with the assistance systems. Among other things, a wet mode for wet roads as well as a night vision assistant and adaptive cruise control are now available in the 911.

In the rear of the 992 is sitting opposite the 991 slightly further developed six-cylinder boxer with 3,8 liter displacement and turbocharging. The Carrera S, which Porsche will launch in front of the normal Carrera, now provides 331 kW / 450 PS - an increase of 22 kW / 30 PS. The power is transmitted via a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which can only be switched via the rockers on the steering wheel. With all-wheel drive in the Carrera 4S it goes in 3,6 seconds from zero to Tempo 100. The optional Sports Chrono package reflows two tenths of a second.

Porsche has also announced its first prizes in the course of the presentation. The 992 series starts with the Carrera S at around 120.000 Euro, the four-wheel version 4S costs at least 128.000 Euro. This will make the eighth generation around 8.000 Euro more expensive than its predecessor.
