The new SX4 - a first look
The new SX4 had seen the light of the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show. With this model, Suzuki plans to catch customers in the market segment of compact SUV models from autumn.
With a cost price of € 19.490, the chances are not that bad, as the new SX4 offers significantly more space than its predecessor. The Suzuki will also continue to offer. In terms of motorization, the buyer will be able to choose between two 1.6 liter four-cylinder engines. There is a choice of a 120 HP petrol unit and an equally 120 HP diesel. Due to the design, the gasoline engine is naturally aspirated, the diesel engine with 320 Nm at 1.750 revolutions offers the more powerful acceleration. The 16-valve petrol engine has 156 Nm. Both engines will be available both in a variant with all-wheel drive and with pure front-wheel drive.
For gasoline engines, Suzuki also has a continuously variable (CVT) automatic as an alternative to the manual transmission. Here, too, gasoline and diesel differ. While the diesel is combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the petrol engine only gets five speed steps.
Place there
Suzuki clearly sees the SX4 as a family car. Thanks to the plus in total length (4.30 meters long) and wheelbase, the interior and the trunk grew, in contrast to the predecessor, in some cases significantly. With 430 liters of luggage space and a variable backrest, the compact SUV offers space for the luggage of a holiday trip.
Club, Comfort, Comfort +
Suzuki will offer three equipment lines. The basic version “Club” is reserved for the front-wheel drive models and is also the cheapest option. The SX4 is particularly attractive in the Comofrt + version. Then not only easy-care leather seats are available as standard, but also the new large glass sunroof. With a length of one meter, the large glass roof brings plenty of light into the family SUV. When opened, a 56 centimeter large fresh air and sun hatch is created.
7 speakers, a navigation system with Bluetooth and steering wheel remote control are also standard in the Comfort +!
The prices for the new Suzuki SX4 in the entry-level Club version start at 19.490 euros for the 1.6-liter petrol engine. The 1.6 diesel is available from € 21.690. Those who combine the top comfort + equipment with all-wheel drive and the powerful diesel cost € 28.990.
