Audi extends the long version of the luxury saloon A8 by another meter. On special customer request the Ingolstädter have now built the A8 L Extended as one-off production. The 6,36 meter long sedan has six doors and as many seats.
Only the wheelbase was stretched. Exactly 1,09 meters of additional sheet metal and aluminum profiles have been fed into the side skirts and center tunnel by the engineers. In the roof, an 2,40 meter long glass panel ensures a pleasant lighting climate in the interior. For legal reasons, the headlamps of the overlong A8 also had to be supplemented with side marker lights familiar from trucks. With 2,4 tons, the A8 is a good 400 kilograms heavier than the 5,27 meter long wheelbase model. The standard A8 measures 5,14 meters and weighs well over 1.900 kilograms.
Passengers can also take six leather-covered single seats in the direction of travel. In the last row there is an entertainment system and a cool box. Not powered by the powerful V8 engine, but powered by an 3,0-liter V6 turbo gasoline engine with 228 kW / 310 PS, which distributes 440 Nm to all four wheels. The spurt from zero to 100 km / h should take 7,1 seconds, the maximum speed is limited as usual to 250 km / h. The braking system from the sports model S8 provides for deceleration. For the price of the single piece, the manufacturer says nothing.
