Body foil and rally stripes were yesterday: Audi embosses matted lettering and pictures in the paint of his sports cars on request. Initially, however, the new design individualization is only available for the R8. And there too, only the so-called sideblades - the covers of the side air inlets behind the doors - can be decorated. However, the customer has almost free hand in the design - provided the motif does not measure more than one meter square and it does not affect the rights of third parties.
In the so-called partial matting of painted surfaces, the clear coat of the car is sandblasted with a special powder. Here, a few thousandths of a millimeter are removed, creating a matt-looking structure. The price for the customization begins at 350 Euro, condition is sideblades in special paint, which is available from just 1.000 Euro.
