April bloggers spotlight: Renault

For the first time, there is an automobile manufacturer at the center of the German automobile blogging scene for the month of April. From now on, every month we (the participating autobloggers) will choose an automobile manufacturer that is in the “spotlight” of the autoblogger scene. Voted almost unanimously this month:

Renault

Why?

Renault deserves special attention because of its already very extensive range of electric vehicles. So you can buy the first series electric transporter from Renault, the Kangoo ZE, a real electric sedan, the Fluence ZE and last but not least the particularly cheap ones Renault Twizy. And on the horizon the Renault Zoe look. No automobile manufacturer currently offers such a range of e-mobiles.

In addition, Renault addressed an extremely wide range of “bloggers” for the introduction of the new Twizy, thereby promoting a particularly open dialogue with the “internal nerds”. This event also shows very clearly: Renault is looking for contact in the “social media” blogosphere and is changing the methodology in public relations.

What do I like about Renault?

In the French's current program there are still a few hot boxes that clearly build a bridge to the long motorsport tradition of the automobile company founded in 1898. Last but not least, Renault still offers the “world champion engine” in Formula 1. Sebastian Vettel’s Red Bull runs with a Renault engine, which, however, has been given the “Infiniti” label for marketing reasons.

My current favorite in the current range is clearly the 201 hp Renault Clio RS Cup. For € 19.900, the front-engined sports car is a clear and (presumably) extremely handy sports car. With its 2 liter 16V four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, the wishes of sports drivers (presumably) come true. With the 17 ″ rims, the small Clio is already in series production as an extremely powerful athlete on the road. So small and yet so sexy. I envy the French for that. The story of the small, powerfully motorized automobile among the French cannot only be traced back to the legendary Renault 5 Turbo.

Little power creature!
Little power creature!

Congratulations: "Renault".
