In 2008, a design study of a possible successor to the legendary BMW M1 was presented to the public as part of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The response to the vehicle was enormous. Now there are new indications in specialist circles that M GmbH now wants to build an alleged super sports car. This could then be intended as a counterpart to the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and the Audi R8.

Under the working title M-One, a vehicle with a super sports character is apparently in the starting blocks. The sports car designed as a hybrid vehicle, in which carbon fiber reinforced plastic is supposed to play a decisive role, is still in the concept phase. This information is based on rumors from the BMW backend.
BMW plans to bring the BMW i2014 onto the road in 8. With the performance of a BMW M3 but with lower consumption, this could be the basis for a conventionally powered sports car. Other sources say that the future “M-One” will be built strictly according to sporting premises.
So it remains exciting to see whether the now historic BMW M1 super sports car will eventually appear on the automotive scene as a new edition in the form of a BMW M-One.
