Loading lanterns: The column alternative for the roadside

The place for charging stations is scarce in city centers. Now there could be a space-saving alternative, the charging lanterns.

The lantern shop comes to Germany. The Shell subsidiary Ubricity has now presented a German version of its public charging station, which should be available immediately. So far, the loaders are mainly known from Great Britain.

Charging lights probably very weak

The column is intended for mounting on common lamp posts and is connected to the power supply of the street lighting. The system should be cheaper and take up less space than conventional charging stations. However, the charging power is significantly lower; most of the street lights in Germany are operated with 3,7 kW. The target group should therefore be primarily city dwellers without their own wallbox who want to charge their car overnight. The manufacturer does not name prices for the "Heinz" lantern loader.
