The modular interior of the cargo camper

Even if you do not have your own manual skills, camper vans can be individually tailored to your own needs. A company from Salzburg makes this possible with its cargo clips.

Anyone who is looking for a mobile home these days - and it is well known that a particularly large number of contemporaries are currently doing this - can sometimes despair of the wide range of variants and floor plans. He is spoiled for choice - and may not find an ideal solution that quickly. So why not lend a hand yourself? An interior design according to your own taste? Best of all without sawing, hammering or similar actions that scare off any inexperienced craftsman from the start?

It actually works. The Austrian company Autocom has developed “Cargo-Clips”, a modular system with which the interior of the motorhome can be individually tailored to the needs of the owner. Whether motorcyclists, mountain bikers or surfers, dog owners or fishermen, hunters or business travelers.

The basic principle: mobile homes in panel van format are equipped with so-called "click walls", holey walls into which the various modules can be clicked and secured quickly and easily. A rail system in the floor ensures variable fixation.

The selection is extensive, from various bed and kitchen modules (from 2.200 euros) to sanitary and toilet elements (approx. 1.000 to 3.000 euros), hanging and storage cupboards in different sizes to bed-and-breakfast solutions (4.000 euros ) with bed, table and chairs or a bike garage (1.900 euros). And because the components can be removed again just as quickly or simply folded away, this results in a high degree of flexibility, and the motorhome can be transformed into a transporter in a flash. For example, the breakfast table and chairs can be folded up on the side wall in such a space-saving manner that you can easily accommodate a veritable motorcycle in the interior and lash it down on the floor rails.

In Salzburg, the Austrians are installing their Cargo-Clips-System in delivery vans, but recently they have also been offering complete vehicles under the Cargo-Camper brand. They rely exclusively on the MAN TGE, the structurally identical brother of the VW Crafter, or on the Mercedes Sprinter. The base price, which is between 43.900 and 51.900 euros for both models, depending on the wheelbase and high-roof variant, includes insulation, insulation, wooden floor, roof and wall cladding in beech, as well as 12 and 230 volt cabling. The customer configures the rest himself based on the extensive range of modules.

Since trade fairs are currently being canceled everywhere, managing director Stefan Ilg has decided to present his system on a tour of Germany. The website www.cargoclips.cc provides precise data, which interested parties must use to register in advance due to the corona situation.
