New? For real? Yes, indeed, the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 AMG 4Matic received a facelift - or MoPf, as it is called in Stuttgart. The inconspicuous facelift brings the compact SUV an optical as well as technical appreciation. The careful optimization leads to an intelligent aerodynamics, which should lead to improved driving stability, among other things, by a new front apron and a corresponding roof spoiler. At the same time, the air resistance improves to a cW value of 0,33. Here are the details.
It is a typical facelift: a new front design, new air intake grille, some paint here and there and done. But with the GLA 45 Facelift it all has a purpose. Thus, the visually barely noticeable changes caused an improved conduction of the cooling air streams.
A facelift that you only recognize at second glance
In addition to the aerodynamics, the standard equipment of the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 upgraded. So now find LED headlights on the side of the equipment details that come home. Optionally, however, are the attractive 20-Zoll-rims in the multi-spoke design, which stand the compact athlete excellently.
Also inside put the Affalterbacher - here has AMG its headquarters - hand on. Thus, the dashboard is now covered with synthetic leather as standard. The interior enhancement is complemented by red contrasting seams, trim elements in matt printed basic structure and AMG lettering. In addition, the instrument cluster was given a new numeric design and surprises with a tachometer division in 30er steps.
As is usual with a facelift, new equipment is of course also added. The GLA 45 AMG can now be equipped with a 360-degree camera that uses four networked cameras. This gives you a realistic all-round view from a bird's eye view when parking and maneuvering. The mechanical front-axle limited-slip differential is certainly more interesting, especially for those who like to move the compact sports car appropriately. It is found under the sheet metal together with the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package. So there should always be enough grip in corners. And the AMG Ride Control sports suspension, which has been supplemented by the "Race" drive program, provides that last bit of sportsmanship.
GLA 45 AMG with one liter of power from 191 PS

Equipped in this way, the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 AMG sprints from a standstill to 4,4 km / h in 100 seconds and only lets it be good when the 250 km / h is locked.

If you pull yourself together, the GLA 45 AMG should be frugal and consume only 7,4 liters in the third mix. However, this value should still be more theoretical, after all, an AMG is built for speedy gait. And that's exactly what the 7-Gang-DCT was designed for. The gears three to seven were translated shorter, so that the acceleration is now even more emotional and improves the response.
The Dortmund edition
At the launch, the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 AMG will be available as a Yellow Night Edition, as will its A-Class based brothers. AMG celebrates itself and its successes with models available exclusively in night or cosmos black. Why not, after all, you can not just accuse the Affalterbacher of resting on their bark.
Thus, the Yellow Night Edition comes with graphite gray-matte and yellow surfaces, which can be found on the entire vehicle.
