"Think Big" seems to be in vogue again in the USA. At least the car industry in the US just likes to show muscle, such as Dodge at the April Chicago Auto Show with the new Durango SRT.
SRT stands for road and race technology in the Chrysler Group. And of this technique, Dodge has now stuffed a lot in the all-wheel drive Durango. Thanks to a 6,4-liter V8 engine, the family car becomes an 482 PS and 637 Newtonmeter's powerful performance vehicle. This shortens the sprint time of the 2,5 truck from zero to about four and a half seconds. This is about three seconds less than in the strongest variant of the Durango. In addition, the Durango should provide an active center differential, adaptive dampers, a firmer suspension, stabilizers and powerful Brembo stoppers for a better controllability in curves.
A few extra air vents in the outer skin, 20 inch wheels, fender flares and large-volume exhaust tailpipes also give the Durango SRT the necessary macho aura. Inside, there are sports leather seats covered with red leather, among other things. What the fun will cost is not yet known. At the end of 2017, the dynamic Durango is due to hit the US market.
