The rental car im Vacation should be well insured. But this is not always the case.
Whoever books a rental car in other European countries often does not think that the car is insufficient insured could be. Because with liability insurance, the minimum amounts insured in the holiday country apply. These can be significantly lower than the amounts that are insured in Germany. The comparison portal Verivox points out that in some popular holiday destinations such as Turkey, car rental companies only cover liability claims up to 12.430 euros. The portal advises you to insure them up to at least one million euros, and better still up to 10 million euros. Within the EU there is a minimum amount of 1,12 million euros. If you are traveling with a rental car outside the EU or Europe, you can take out the so-called Mallorca policy or the traveler policy.
