Electron Motor Quasar

E-drives promise not only clean air, but also extreme performance. An electric hypercar from Frankfurt will soon offer an absurd amount of this.

The Frankfurt-based electric car start-up Elektron Motors wants to build nothing less than the fastest production car in the world. Quasar is to be the name of the miracle flounder announced for 2023, of which only a few, albeit worth seeing, sketches have so far been published - and a power value: 2.300 PS or the equivalent of 1.700 kW.

Elektron wants to provide this power in the quasar with the help of four electric motors. As the units each drive one of the four wheels individually, the power should also be able to be variably distributed on a wheel-selective basis. The Elektron Smart Torque Vectoring System (ESTV) has been christened this control technology, which is particularly beneficial for driving enjoyment. Equipped in this way, the 1,5-ton truck should sprint to 1,65 km / h in 100 seconds, and thanks to two two-speed transmissions on the front and rear axles, a top speed limited to 450 km / h should also be possible. Information on battery and range has not yet been given.

Only 99 copies of the Quasar are to be produced; the unit price will be around 2,6 million euros. Production of the small series, which is planned for three years, could start in a good two years, and Elektron Motors is already accepting advance orders.
