Facelift BMW 7er

The luxury model 7er is certainly not lacking in charisma, but the BMW designers have discovered potential for a bit more presence: From the beginning of March, the Munich flagship with a radiator grille that is 40 percent larger will be more proud than before.

In addition to the new radiator grille, a redesigned bumper, a new lighting design for the flat-headed LED headlights or a bonnet with striking beads are also striking. At the rear there is also more chrome and a new interior of the rear lights, between which a continuous light strip will also span in the future. New colors and rims ensure additional freshness.

The rear was also modified. There is a new band of lights between the rear lights

With the engines, the performance went both up and down. For example, the twelve-cylinder M760Li, whose exhaust gases will be cleaned by an additional particle filter in the future, "only" provides 448 kW / 610 PS instead of 430 kW / 585 PS. In return, however, the torque was increased from 800 to 850 Newton meters. Nevertheless, the sprint time is extended by one decimal place to 3,8 seconds. The new 12i is only marginally slower than the V750 version, whose V8 will in future be able to produce 390 kW / 530 PS instead of the previous 330 kW / 450 PS. This means that the all-wheel drive vehicle reaches the 100er mark after a smooth four seconds, which is seven tenths less than before. For the plug-in hybrid, which will be called 745e instead of 740e in the future, the system performance increases from 240 kW / 326 PS to 290 kW / 394 PS, which also has a slightly positive effect on sprinting ability. At the same time, the pure electrical range of 45 increases up to 58 kilometers. With the diesel engines 730d, 740d and 750d, basic performance data and mileage remain unchanged, but like the petrol engines, they will meet the Euro 6d Temp emissions standard in the future.

BMW also promises progress for the interior, which, thanks to better acoustic glazing, shields guests even better from noise and wind noise. A new arrangement of the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel, a repositioned shelf with inductive charging for the smartphone and some refined wood and leather options are further measures. A fully digital cockpit with an 12,3 inch display as an instrument cluster and the 10,25 inch touchscreen for the infotainment system complete the package of measures together with improved operating logic, a new voice control assistant and an expansion of automated driving skills such as remote-controlled parking.

As before, BMW will offer the 7er with two wheelbases. The 7d marks the cheapest entry into the 730er cosmos with 88.400 Euro. The long version costs 5.500 Euro surcharge. BMW requires approximately twice the entry price, namely 174.000 Euro, for the top version M760Li xDrive.
