Ford has revised the look of the Mondeo. In future, both sedan and station wagon with hybrid drive to have

At the Brussels Motor Show (18 until 27, January) Ford introduces its mid-range Mondeo with some innovations. The facelift measures give limousine and station wagon some design changes outside and inside. In addition, new drive options and assistance systems are available.

At the front of the redesigned upper grille eye, which is offered depending on the equipment level in different variants. Modifications to the bumper and spoiler lip give the front end a slightly sportier look. Fog lights and LED daytime running lights have also been redesigned. New taillights, rim designs and colors also ensure a bit of freshness.

For the interior Ford promises an optimized build quality and a correspondingly nobler appearance. There are also other fabrics for the seat covers and new door handle panels. In the higher-quality versions also modified decor elements are used. Thanks to the shifting gate of a new eight-speed automatic transmission, the center console presents itself tidier than before.

For the four-door sedan as well as for the Combination Version Tournament, there will be a hybrid drive in the future, in which a two-liter Atkinson engine in conjunction with electric motor and continuously variable CVT gearbox mobilizes 138 kW / 187 horsepower. Thanks to recuperation and an 1,4 kWh battery, braking energy can be used for propulsion, which according to the manufacturer should enable a consumption of just over four liters on 100 kilometers.

Ford has also redesigned the diesel engine family, which in the future will be called EcoBlue instead of Duratorq. There are three power levels with 88 kW / 120 PS, 110 kW / 150 PS and 139 kW / 190 PS to choose from. As an alternative to the six-speed manual transmission, Ford optionally offers an eight-speed automatic for the more powerful variants. The 190-PS diesel can also be combined with all-wheel drive. All diesel engines are fit for the Euro 6d-temp emission standard.

Thanks to the automatic transmission, the Mondeo will in future offer a traffic jam assistant with stop & go function in conjunction with the optional cruise control. There is also a speed limiter in combination with the Sync 3 infotainment system on board, which can automatically adjust the vehicle's speed to the respective speed limits.
So far, only the price of 39.850 Euro for the hybrid version was called. In January, Ford wants to publish the complete price list, which also marks the start of the order.
