Simply report illegal parking using the app

For some it is denouncing, for others a necessity: report parking offenders and ask them to pay. With new apps, it's just got easier to see those who park incorrectly. Wegeheld, i-Ticket and Park Collect are the names of the providers of these apps, which are highly controversial. With their apps, they don't just want to target commercial parking lot operators, but also target private individuals.

Monitor the parking lots

Report illegal parking - if you were caught as a private person, you could no longer be seen in the neighborhood. The reaction of those who report parking offenders is also understandable. Parking spaces are rare, especially in city centers, and anyone who has to experience again and again that their rented parking space in front of the house is constantly occupied by other cars will eventually burst their necks. All who want to defend themselves only have to download the app onto their smartphone and can then register. If a wrongdoer is seen, he is photographed and reported using the app.

There is a "bounty"

For the fast and uncomplicated process, a company like Euro Collect promises a kind of "bounty" of at least 40 euros. These costs are passed on to the wrongdoer, but the actual penalty fee for wrongly parking is not revealed. The idea comes from England, where i-Ticket "works" on the same principle. The only difference is the amount of the "bounty", because in England there is only the equivalent of 11,50 euros.

Controversial discussions

The German developer Wegeheld is also involved and has been for six years. Wegeheld offers to make parking offenders public and then to report them to the public order office. But Wegeheld goes a little further and offers an overview map of where wrongly parked cars can be found. Anyone can view the map on Twitter, but the license plate number of the car has been blacked out for data protection reasons. The color and brand of the car can be reported to the responsible office via the app.
