But my-auto-blog doesn't mean Faraday Future, but the many comments from “old school” media and even older auto journalists. Life may rush past one or the other, but one does not understand the developments one sees. Or you comment on the obvious without understanding the idea. Look behind the details? Things seem to have become difficult for some observers of the automotive scene.
CES 2016 - FARADAY FUTURE
When petrol fumes cloud the view
Faraday Future unveiled an 1.000 PS supercar at CES in Las Vegas. Of course, electrically. What else? The design could come from a new Batman movie or an old Star Wars trilogy. A lot of PR drum rolls in front of the fair, lots of PR wind during the fair. Faraday Future is trying to change the mobility of the future. So, or something like that could be understood to the CES with the smell of mysterious swirling PR messages. FARADAY FUTURE is a project, a vision of Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting. And because their own billions apparently only the first impetus of the PR machine should cause, they have successfully sought funding from the State of Nevada, because there FARADAY FUTURE wants to establish their own place of action.
“PANTS DOWN” at CES
At CES 2016, FARADAY FUTURE had to let their pants down. What is their idea? What is the future of mobility? Electric? Allegedly! A sports car? Certainly not. But that is exactly what the company is showing in a PR battle over the BATMOBILE “FFZERO1”. And the critics see themselves confirmed. Bashing is the order of the day. “Always push” for the visionary with the claim to funding.
Understood nothing
Whoever reduces the idea of Faraday Future to a sports car has been led astray by a successful PR machine. And there are quite a few established car journalists who are blinded by the Chinese BATMOBIL. They do not understand the idea, the vision that you have with FARADAY Future.
NOTHING completely new!
The idea is not even completely new, but now, now is the time to implement exactly these solutions. Because what Faraday Future is presenting is the modular structure of an electrical kit solution. A floor assembly that coordinates all the electrical systems for a car and on whose platform you only place the “greenhouse”.
“Greenhouse multiplication”
It is the idea of an easily replaceable body, with the same platform of electric motors, control systems and batteries. You can think of it like a “Duplo” car. The wheels and the platform remain the same, with a convertible on nice days, a station wagon for vacation trips, a nice coupé for a trip to the mountains or a functional limousine for the trip to the office.
The idea is not new, but now the time is ripe for e-mobility. The many factors that are necessary to bring new ideas onto the road are now in place. And perhaps in 30 years we will no longer be talking about the innovative spirit of the “classic” automobile manufacturers, but rather about a billionaire from China who has done nothing other than bring a “logical” idea into series production. Because even if it doesn't result in us having three “greenhouse variants” of a vehicle body in the garage at home in the future, just waiting to receive the driving carriage - this form of modular e- Platform is a way to create the necessary variety that is currently missing from an attractive e-mobility solution!
