The Geneva Motor Show casts its shadow ahead. Because Ferrari is also presenting a new sports car in the run-up to the fair. The Ferrari F8 Tributo aims to pay homage to the most powerful Ferrari V8 engine ever.
The new sports car with a mid-rear engine represents the latest generation of the classic Berlinetta. With 720 hp and an output of 185 hp per litre, this is the most powerful yet Ferrari V8 engine, which was installed in a Ferrari production car.
Ferrari F8 will be the successor to the 488 GTB
[dropcap size=big]F8[/dropcap]The Ferrari F8 Tributo replaces the Ferrari 488 GTB. It not only becomes more powerful and easier to control, the dry weight is reduced by 40 kilograms compared to its predecessor. This increases the responsiveness and driving pleasure without reducing the comfort in the interior. From the Ferrari 488 Track the F8 Tributo has adopted a wide variety of solutions for the thermal management of the engine. For example, the rear-facing radiator and the dynamic air inlets, which are shifted from the flanks to the two sides of the spoiler.
The openings for the S-Duct characterize the front of the F8. The S-Duct alone provides a 15 percent increase in downforce compared to the 488 GTB. The S-Duct is borrowed from Ferrari's Formula 1 experience.
New, more compact, horizontal LED headlights make it possible to install new brake cooling ducts in combination with those on the outside of the bumper. This improves the air flow in the entire wheel housing. There is also no need for a larger braking system due to the higher speeds of the vehicle.
Back to the design roots
[dropcap size=big]F40[/dropcap]The rear engine of the Ferrari F8 Tributo comes into its own thanks to the specially modeled Lexan rear window. It is strongly reminiscent of the legendary Ferrari F40. Integrated air slots dissipate the heat. An optimized spoiler increases the contact pressure. It encases the dual rear headlights. The details reveal that the design of the first eight-cylinder berlinettas, such as the Ferrari 308 GTB, were the inspiration for the F8.Classic Ferrari Berlinetta cockpit style
The vehicle's interior retains the classic "cockpit" style of mid-rear engine berlinettas, but has been completely redesigned in all dashboard, door panel and tunnel components.
The new generation of HMI (Human Machine Interface) with round nozzles, a new steering wheel and controls and a new 7-inch touchscreen passenger display improves comfort on board for the driver and front passenger.
