Ferrari SUV Purosangue 2022- First four-door from Modena

The Ferrari SUV Purosangue will be the first four-door Ferrari. The Italian sports car manufacturer took a long time to decide on a Ferrari SUV. When Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne was asked about an SUV, he said: "Before it comes onto the market, you'd have to shoot me first". Clear words that can now probably be put into perspective.

The popularity of the SUV of the competitors such Bentley Bentayga, Rolls-Royce Cullinan or even Lamborghini Governance, word has probably got around in the management floors at Ferrari.

The word purosangue has several meanings in Italian: genuine, thoroughbred and thoroughbred horse.

Maserati Levante SUV as a role model

Based on the Purosangue am Maserati SUV. It is to be driven over all four wheels by a V6 turbo engine with an additional electric motor. Still other sources see a V8 biturbo engine as the main drive, others think that even a V12 could be installed in the future Ferrari SUV.

Due to the placement of the front engine similar to the Ferrari GTC4Lusso, both the distribution of the seats and the vehicle height are extremely variable. The first camouflaged images reveal a coupé shape, with a roof that slopes sharply backwards. A wide diffuser with a double-pipe exhaust system can be seen at the rear.

It remains questionable whether the external appearance as shown in the video will also end in a production vehicle. The Ferrari SUV Purosangue 2022 will surely surprise us. The choice of name also remains interesting, because only Ferrari itself knows whether the working title “Purosangue” will also be retained.
