Christmas will be over in two months! So it's time to prepare for winter because winter is coming. Sometimes just like that overnight! And before you get there, you should have prepared! mein-auto-blog has listed five things that should now - in the cold season - belong in the car!
Winter is coming, check the car equipment now!
These five things belong in every car in winter!
1.) Windscreen frost protection five liter concentrate
Disc antifreeze concentrate or a disc antifreeze ready mix. One of the two should always be in the trunk. Personally, I tend to concentrate on the concentrate, because when I stop for fuel I always check the fill levels in winter and then fill up again straight away. The ready-mix is of course helpful when you are on the go, have no water available, but urgently need to fill up the washer fluid supplies. The windscreen washer system is in continuous operation, especially in slush and sleet. When it comes to ready mixes, you should just make sure that the antifreeze dosage is not too low. Not that the “supply” in the trunk freezes, then that doesn't help again;).
2.) Disc de-icer spray
I am a lazy dog. I frankly admit that. These windshield deicing sprays were invented for me. Ice scraping? In the morning? Then go on the drive with cold fingers? No. Okay, our long-term tester, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, has an auxiliary heater anyway, but I always have a “windscreen de-icer” spray bottle ready to hand for the other cars! In addition, these pump sprays are much better than the spray cans! Because the principle of action of the spray can cools it down further during use - and you have cold fingers again. So grab the pump spray right away!
3.) Jumper cable
If something just gives up the ghost in winter, it's the car battery. After three to five years, such a car battery is usually over. And that always happens when you're in a hurry. A neighbor with a running car is probably found quickly. Just how to bridge? This requires a jumper cable and that must be at hand. So, in winter always think of the jumper cable in the trunk!
4.) Tow rope
The tow rope is actually not only intended as “basic equipment” in the car for the winter. Such a tow rope, pay attention to the quality (!), Should actually always be in the car. In winter, however, it could mainly be used if someone got stuck.
5.) Emergency Blanket
A very simple blanket. Belongs in the winter always in the trunk. The next traffic jam will definitely come, or a breakdown. If you wait for help then you may not be able to run the engine all the time. Then a blanket helps.
