Excitement, fun and games: the #OTRARallye2016
Pentecost is traditionally a quiet time. People like to use the holidays and the long weekend for a little relaxing holiday or a visit to the family. For most people, that's absolutely fine. However, there is also the stroke of people who are more enthusiastic about discovering new places, facing challenges and meeting new people - people with a certain restlessness ... and petrol in their blood.
The small but fine Auto & Travel blog “OnTheRoadAgain"Every year in spring the OTRA rally! However, "rally" has nothing to do here with desert dunes, dirt roads and gravel roads, but primarily with highways, country roads and serpentines.
It's not just about speed and shortest possible stage times. Simple "frenzy" may lead to the goal, but not to victory - because in the rally planning, strategic action and tactical skill in the foreground. For each of the six teams, each consisting of two people and one vehicle, the challenge is to earn points by solving as many challenges as possible.
The challenges are divided into rally and stage challenges and very diverse. They range from "come first" to "use the least fuel" to the legendary "Balls of Steel Award". In addition, before each of the three daily stages of a pool Fotochallenges pulled. Here, the team, which first moves to a specific location and posts a proof of it, gets the points. Not so much the gas foot is required, but rather a solid planning. Is it worth it to make the Fotochallenge, or do you then lose a place and has the bottom line less points?
Most lucrative, however, are the motto bouts that give each of the stages their own characteristics. On the first stage, from central Germany to Lake Geneva, speed is in the foreground. On day 2, from Lausanne to Monaco, it is said for the drivers "high out", because it count the most altitude! The final stage of the day leads from one princely state to the next - the goal is Vaduz in Liechtenstein. The finale is also more comfortable, because it wins the team with the smoothest driving style.
The team that scored the most points in the end, not only takes the trophy and many exciting experiences home, but also the good feeling that they have been the best strategists as "rally winner 2016".
