Large cargo gaps in Europe

Some countries are better prepared for e-cars, others less so. The VDA has created a ranking.

The Netherlands is best prepared for the electrification of mobility in Europe. According to the charging network ranking of the automotive industry association VDA, 109 cars share a charging point there. Norway ranks second with 147 cars per socket, ahead of Sweden with 353. Germany ranks twelfth with 1.014 vehicles per connection. And is thus below the European average of 887 (including EU, Great Britain, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Iceland and Norway).

At the lower end of the 31 ranking are Lithuania (8.613 cars / charging point), Romania (10.539 cars / charging point) and Greece (17.218 cars / charging point). Against the background of the unequal distribution, the VDA demands that the EU set binding expansion targets for all states. Otherwise the transformation to climate neutrality will not succeed.
