Hennessey Venom F5

As with other hypercar projects, the start of series production of the Hennessey F5 was a little delayed. But the wait was worth it, because the final series version can do more than previously thought.

In fact, the car world has known what the Hennessey Venom F2017 hypercar will look like and what it will do since 5. But before the start of series production, which has now been postponed to 2021, a lot has happened visually and technically. Now the American sports car manufacturer has officially presented the first real of a total of only 24 series F5s and has revealed all the details as well as the price, which has increased significantly again.

Even more power

While the front of the production version has changed only marginally compared to the 2017 study (new brackets for the exterior mirrors), the rear has been significantly modified. There are now four instead of three and also higher exhaust pipes. In addition, the diffuser has been changed and the covers around it have been provided with many small ventilation openings.

The output of the 6,6-liter twin-turbo V8 behind it has increased to 1.336 kW / 1.817 hp and 1.617 Newton meters of torque. This means that 100 km / h should fall after 2,6 seconds and 200 km / h after 4,7 seconds. It is 8,4 seconds to 300 km / h, 15,5 seconds pass until 400 km / h are on the digital speedometer display of the 1,4-tonner. Hennessey points out that more than 500 km / h are also possible and the F5 should prove this next year in an official, transparent and independently verifiable top speed run. With this statement, the sports car manufacturer is alluding to a record run in October by SSC North America with the Tuatara hypercar at almost 509 km / h, the official character of which has been questioned by several critics. According to Hennessey, the F5 would have what it takes to surpass the Tuatara brand, because according to calculations, a top mark of 534 km / h should be possible.

Expensive fun

In addition, Hennessey has published a final price for the F5: it will cost 2,1 million US dollars, which, together with 19 percent VAT, would mean around 2,05 million euros for a German customer.
