Honda NSX - a new attempt

He is - alongside the Nissan GT-R - the Japanese cult athlete. We're talking about none other than the Honda NSX. The mid-engine sports car started in 1990 and was built until 2005. But in our region, the Japanese flounder is an absolute rarity, despite some film appearances, such as part of the "Fast & Furious" series. “Fast” and “Furious” also want to be the second generation of the sports car and rely on a hybrid drive. Namely to someone who has washed himself.

If the engine concept of the old Honda NSX was still designed according to the classic form, the new bolide almost throws away all the attributes of the old construction. Only six cylinders remain. The displacement now measures 3.0 cm³ instead of 3.2 or 3.500 liters and is forced-ventilated. Two turbochargers provide plenty of thrust and help the V6 to 507 alert horses under the hood. But that wasn't enough for the developers: They donated three electric motors to the new Honda NSX, which gave it a system output of 581 hp. That is Porsche 911 Turbo S level.

HONDA NSX DETAIL
As you can usually see him: from behind. If you can see one of the 50 copies a year

The yield of torque provided by the hybrid engine quartet is also impressive. Almost 700 Nm are ready to let the athlete really smoke. Sounds over the top? Barely! Finally, the new Honda NSX can catapult the two passengers to 2,9 km / h in 100 seconds. The Japanese send a friendly greeting to Zuffenhausen. Propulsion only ends at 307 km / h and ranks the NSX among the top athletes. The Swabian competitor can reach a higher top speed, but what does that count in reality?

The Japanese have little in common with reality on our streets anyway. A mere 50 copies are expected to come to Germany per year - more than a homeopathic dose. But Honda seems to be careful here, after all, the predecessor of the Honda NSX is an absolute rarity. With the small number of units, however, the high base price of 180.000 euros is put into perspective. In view of the built-in technology and the price of the main German competitor, there should be no reason to complain. If you are looking for a better price-performance ratio, you will have to fall back on the Nissan GT-R. The 80.000 euro difference can be invested in tuning measures. But you still don't have such a rare piece as the Honda NSX.
