Karma Revero - the grinner's comeback

The former Fisker Karma is officially available again under a new name. In 2013, Henrik Fisker's electric sports car project went bankrupt. The new owners renamed the company Karma Automotive and the model in Revero. The vehicle was also revised in some details.

Visually everything has remained the same. Even the idiosyncratic front with the Jack Nicholson joker grin is retained. The previous longitudinal struts of the grille were replaced by a grid.

The old concept was also adopted in terms of drive technology: there is an electric drive with a petrol engine as a range optimizer. The electric machine alone puts the rear wheels under pressure with 301 kW / 410 hp and 1.330 Nm of torque. The standard sprint lasts just under six seconds, and a maximum of 200 km / h is possible. Compared to Tesla models, the Revero has to make do with a modest 21,4 kWh battery, which at best allows a range of 80 kilometers. In addition, an on-board two-liter petrol engine can feed 6,6 kW into the circuit as a generator, which allows a total range of around 500 kilometers. The solar cells on the roof can also make a small contribution: they generate electricity for around 2 kilometers on sunny days.

Karma has modernized the Revero, especially when it comes to infotainment. The online-capable system can integrate smartphones via Apple Carplay or Android Auto. In terms of comfort, the Revero offers, among other things, two-zone automatic climate control and four electrically adjustable seats. In addition, the safety equipment with collision warning, reversing camera, high beam or lane departure warning system is up to date.

The future Revero, which was built in California instead of the way it was once built in Finland, is expected to cost 130.000 US dollars (115.000 euros). Compared to the old Fisker variant, that's almost 30 percent extra charge.
