The number of environmental Bonus-Applications from e-car buyers narrowly missed a new record in June. The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) registered 51.874 applications. That is 4.125 more than in the previous month and 54 less than in March 2021, the strongest month to date. In contrast to the previous months, the pure electric cars with 27.205 applications were ahead of the plug-in hybrids with 24.666. There were three applications for fuel cell vehicles.
Since the introduction of the environmental bonus in summer 2016, 693.601 applications had been submitted by the end of June. Of these, 386.651 were purely e-mobiles and 306.749 were plug-in hybrids. The fuel cell cars played a minor role with 201 applications. The premium, including the federal government's innovation bonus, is up to 9.570 euros; the funding period has recently been extended to the end of 2025.
