Luxury instead of trucks - Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Marco-Polo refreshed

The Swabian MPV comes with revised front end, larger air intake and diamond grille.

Just five years is the V-Class Mercedes-Benz on the market, now the minivan with commercial vehicle background is being revised like a real car. The wider front of the MPV is now characterized by a continuous chrome-plated opening under the radiator grille with a new rhombic structure. This makes them look a bit more rustic and reminiscent of the current car models of the Swabians. The AMG line stands out with the well-known diamond grill with chrome pins.   

Up to 4630 liters of cargo space, if you expand the relatively heavy seats.

Wellness feeling in the rear

As usual, the V-Class rolls in three lengths from 4,90 to 5,37 meters and two wheelbases (3,20 and 4,43 meters) on the road. In the most popular 5,13 meter middle length, there are up to six passengers with ample head and knee space. Unique privileges can be enjoyed in the second row in the S-Class seats with reclining function. If necessary, invisible fingers massage cooled or warmed body parts like a massage therapist in a wellness oasis. Unlike there you can choose between three massage levels and three air conditioning levels.

Under the bonnet, the revised V-Class starts with Euro6d-Temp compliant and more efficient four-cylinder diesel engines in the 163, 190 and 239 PS power levels. All diesel engines are equipped as standard with rear-wheel drive, but are also optionally available with permanent four-wheel drive 4Matic. The 300d with 239 PS and torque from 500 Nm, in combination with the new 9G-Tronic automatic transmission in the mountainous hinterland of Barcelona, ​​is developing an impressive dynamic for a vehicle of this class. The internal engine called OM 654 pushes the MPV within 8,5 seconds of 0 on 100, for spontaneous overtaking maneuver pack the Swabians by overboost again 30 Nm on top. Nevertheless, Mercedes-Benz noted for consumption combined moderate 6,8 - 6,5 l / 100 km. The top speed is 214 km / h.

With the exception of the luxury seats, the Marco Polo also has the innovations of the V-Class on board.

The Marco Polo camping vehicle, which is built on the V-Class in Rheda-Wiedenbrück near Westfalia, takes 0 seconds to sprint from 100 to 9,5 km / h. Tribute to weight and pop-up roof. Overall, not much changes in the equipment for the 2019 model year. There is now a Bluetooth element that can be used to control the vehicle's music system with a control unit or your mobile phone without having to activate the car systems. The electricity then comes from the on-board battery and not from the starter battery. In addition, Mercedes-Benz gave the upper bed disc springs instead of slatted frames and the stoves were dimensioned so that an espresso machine can also stand on them.

The list price of the new V-Class starts at 30.631 Euro. An electrified V-Class with a range of 400 kilometers will go under the Mercedes sub-brand EQ in the near future on the market.
