At the Geneva Motor Show (7 until 17, March) Mercedes-Benz subsidiary AMG is presenting another model of its 53er expansion stage. Following GLS and E-Class, the GLE now also joins as 53 4MATIC + with 320 kW / 435 PS. The powerful SUV will be available in November. Prices are not yet communicated by the company. Similar to the other AMG versions of the E-Class, the additional charge compared to the GLE 450 (from 72.650 Euro) should be around 17.000 Euro, so the base price will start at around 90.000 Euro.
The three-liter inline six-cylinder in the AMG expansion stage has turbocharging and an electric auxiliary compressor and provides a maximum torque of 520 Nm available. Thanks to the 16 kW / 22 PS powerful starter generator, this can be increased to 770 Nm in the short term. The system called EQ Boost also powers the 48-Volt electrical system and performs other functions such as recuperation, sailing and restarting the engine in the Start Stop function.
From 0 to 100 km / h in 5,3 seconds, the electronically limited maximum speed is reached at 250 km / h. The average consumption is Mercedes with 9,3 liters. The power transmission takes place via a nine-speed automatic transmission; All-wheel drive is always part of the standard.
The standard operating concept MBUX provides some AMG-specific content. These include, among others, the Dynamic Select driving programs. If you activate "Trail" and "Sand", off-road settings such as incline, incline and level are selected and displayed in the instrument cluster.
Optionally, the AMG Track Pace 80 option can record and analyze vehicle-specific data as well as times on closed routes outside the public traffic area. An additional smartphone app allows video recordings of the rides, options for customizing captured videos and photos, and sharing the "experiences" in social networks.
The AMG-GLE can be recognized by the specific radiator cowling with 15 vertical, chrome-plated struts. Other optical features include narrow headlights, the star in the double ring and the striking "A-Wing" in the front apron. As standard, 20-Zoll-Alus are mounted. The rear is emphasized by a horizontal, chrome-plated diffuser strip and a special exhaust system with two chrome-plated twin tailpipes.
