Mercedes-AMG GT Edition 50 - A present for the 50th

Who does not like to receive gifts, even at Easter. But here an automobile manufacturer gives itself a very special gift. This year, Mercedes-AMG is celebrating its 50th anniversary and is giving itself and its fans a special kind of automotive gift with the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé Edition 50.

In the colors designo cashmere white magno and designo graphi gray magno, Mercedes-AMG is presenting a fast coupé with 20-inch rims on the asphalt. 577 hp from a 4,0 liter V8 biturbo engine catapult the GT C Coupé to 3,7 km/h in 100 seconds. The climax of the acceleration orgy ends above the 300 mark at 317 km/h.

“With the AMG GT C, we are now expanding our sports car portfolio to six models as well as the AMG GT3 customer racing car. In less than three years, our second vehicle, which we developed entirely in-house, has grown into a family that offers a highly dynamic driving experience in different facets. In our anniversary year, we are starting with the exclusive Edition 50 of the new AMG GT C Coupé,” says Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

50 years of driving performance

Active rear-axle steering, which does its job up to 100 km/h, and the wide track of the Mercedes-AMG GTR allow the GT C to glide along as if on rails. An adaptive sports suspension is available as standard with the Edition 50.

The AMG Exterior Carbon-Fibre package also visually emphasizes the closeness to motorsport: the front splitter, the side fins on the air outlets of the front fenders, the exterior mirror housings, the side skirt inserts (only on the Mercedes-AMG GT C) and the rear diffuser are made of finely finished carbon fiber.

AMG Track Pace for use on the racetrack

The new AMG Track Pace feature is available as an option for all AMG GT models. This turns the smartphone into a personal race engineer. With the app, every owner can analyze and improve their driving style on the race track and share it with other AMG drivers via Facebook, YouTube or the AMG Private Lounge.

The app for the Apple iPhone® is connected to the AMG GT models via WLAN. The vehicle then transmits a large amount of data to the app in real time. These include, for example, speed, gear, steering angle, time, position and acceleration.

Lap or sector times can also be saved on racetracks. Numerous route profiles are already stored on the app. The driver can also record and save other race tracks himself. In addition, the Apple iPhone® camera records driving on the race track so that the driver receives an interactive video of his racing experience with all telemetry data displayed.
