Mercedes-Benz wants to bring the SLC, a little brother of the SLS gullwing, onto the market. This will then compete with the new Porsche 911 in the future. The “Baby SLS” will be built without the historic gullwing doors and will have a V8 engine with between 350 and 500 hp under its hood. The SLC is currently still in the development phase.

Mercedes-Benz plans to set the price of the small SLC as a sports car coupé below the 100.000 euro mark. When the upcoming Benz is up to date Mercedes Benz SLS AMG orientated, one could count on a market readiness until about the year 2014. If the new model offensive from Mercedes is based on a successor, a smaller SLC version would not be available until 2016.
