Mitsubishi Lancer - 35 years old - Jens' friend.

I've already got used to it, Japanese models are often given strange names and descriptions, and the meaning of the cryptic abbreviations is not always immediately obvious. MIVEC for example. Well - someone there who can tell from a standing start what MIVEC means? Would you like some help?

Okay: MIVEC belongs to Mitsubishi and in this case to Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 MIVEC Clear Tec - 35 years special modell.

Jens drove this car when he went to the Mitsubishi Elbe meeting 2012 came. The good Jens from rad-ab.com and I, we had the fun and were able to take a closer look at the fan meeting at the invitation of Mitsubishi.

The 1.6 MIVEC Lancer impressed Jens so much - although only 117PS strong - that he just declared the notchback model to be his “good friend”. Why, why, why? You can find out all of this, of course, on Jens' blog - just click over:

Driving report: Mitsubishi Lancer - 35 years special model - 1.6 MIVEC ClearTec

Oh: MIVEC also stands for MMitsubishi Iinnovative Valve timing Electronic Ccontrol system and describes a technical characteristic of the small gasoline engine. The intake camshaft is adjusted to the respective needs in terms of timing and stroke. Connoisseurs remember: At HONDA that used to be the “VTEC” technology ... all with just one purpose: to pack as much power, efficiency and driving pleasure as possible under the bonnet 🙂
