The environmental bonus makes new electric vehicles attractive. However, it harms used e-mobiles.
Used electric cars can currently only be sold at high discounts. A good half (52 percent) of German car dealers can only get rid of e-mobiles from previous ownership with discounts, according to a survey by DAT's market observers. The reason is the subsidies that are still available for many new electrified vehicles. Used e-cars are only eligible for funding in a few cases.
Overall, however, the supply of electric used cars is still rather scarce. 31 percent of those surveyed do not even have such cars on sale, 17 percent sell them without special discounts.
