New Opel Mokka now available faster

Opel is slowly getting its delivery problems with the new Mocha under control. The Rüsselsheim-based company is now making a delivery promise specifically for the E version of the B-segment SUV.

According to Opel, it has significantly reduced its delivery problems with the new Mocha. The electric version in particular should now be available more quickly. Opel boss Michael Lohscheller announced that improvements had been made and that all variants of the B-segment SUV, including the combustion version, could be ordered and delivered. The Mokka-e had been reported as sold out at times until September. An Opel spokesman confirmed that every customer who orders the E version can expect a delivery this year, i.e. the delivery time is a maximum of ten months.

The Rüsselsheim-based company has great hopes for the second generation of the model. In Germany, between 2012 and last year, almost 200.000 drivers opted for the mocha, across Europe it was around a million. In the next few days, the Mocha, which is now based on the CMP platform of the parent company PSA, will go on sale at prices starting at around 20.000 euros for the version with basic petrol (74 kW / 100 PS). There is also a more powerful version of the 1,2-liter three-cylinder with 96 kW / 130 PS and a 1,5-liter diesel with 81 kW / 110 PS (from 23.600 euros).

The E version of the Mokka will attract particular attention, however, also because the vehicle (from 34.100 euros list price) is hardly more expensive than the diesel after deducting the environmental bonus of 9.570 euros. The system already known from the Corsa is used with an output of 100 kW / 136 PS, 50 kWh battery and a range of 324 kilometers.
