The new generation of the Renault Kangoo is about to start. Now there are the first pictures and information about delivery vans and high-roof station wagon.
Renault is relaunching the Kangoo. The high-roof combination classic will appear much more dynamic from next spring and will probably also offer an electric drive in the car variant for the first time. As usual, there are also several commercial vehicle versions, including a particularly inexpensive one for young companies.
Different loading areas
Where the predecessor was rounded and almost playful, the new design now looks tighter and more sober. This also applies to the tidy-looking interior, which is adorned with a large central display, at least in the higher equipment lines.
The core of the commercial customer offer is the Kangoo Rapid, which is available in two different lengths. The loading volume is between 3,3 and 4,9 cubic meters. A particularly large sliding door should make loading easier in tight parking spaces, and the so-called “Easy Inside Gallery” is also new, which allows long and bulky goods to be transported up in the loading compartment. The ground then remains free.
There will also be an electric version
In addition to the Rapid model, there is a cheaper express model, which is aimed at operators of small fleets and young companies. For the drive of all versions of the delivery van there are initially diesel and gasoline engines with manual or automatic transmissions. An electric version will be submitted later. Renault has not yet given exact data on the engines. There is still no official information on the car model either. It is likely, however, that the family car will also have an electric drive this time in addition to gasoline and diesel engines.
It is already clear that the Renault will get two sister models at the same time. In addition to an offshoot from alliance partner Nissan, there will also be Mercedes variants again. After the manageable success of the previous Citan model, it should now stand out more clearly from the Kangoo in terms of appearance and ambience.
