New Skoda Superb: On the way up

The Skoda Superb will be launched in the third generation this year. Now the manufacturer shows for the first time a picture of the interior. The similarity to the VW Passat from the parent company is unmistakable. At the Geneva Motor Show (5 until 15, March), the biggest model of the Czech car manufacturer celebrates its premiere.

Not only the cockpit architecture of the mid-range model, which is offered as a sedan and station wagon, is the same as that of the Wolfsburg bestseller. What is striking, for example, is the wide center console with the large screen, which - like the premium mid-range models - stretches between the seats with storage space. High-quality materials such as piano lacquer or chrome surfaces make the interior look classy. Skoda also promises improved room dimensions in the previously generously cut interior.

The fact that the exterior design of the Superb will be more progressive than the previously rather good and objectively drawn model, announced the Czechs last year in Switzerland with their study "Vision C". From the stylistic harbinger, the new Superb could incorporate design details such as the flatter grill, the more contoured bonnet or the sharper cut headlights. There is no official photo for this yet.

The Superb has been a serious opponent of the VW Passat for years. Especially in terms of space, so far the 4,84 meter long station wagon had to hide from more expensive and higher positioned competitors so far.
